You’re gonna love this news…

Who doesn’t feel good with a little sunshine? And how about a glass of cabernet with your dinner tonight?

I’ve got evidence of remarkable new benefits from these two things…and you don’t have to sacrifice to get them.

But first, I need to tell you a little bit about how your aging program works.

Genetic aging is controlled by a piece of your DNA called “telomeres.” They can be found in every cell in your body and are critical to youthful cell function.

As your cells divide, your telomeres get shorter. And as they shorten, your cells begin to slow down and act old.

We now know that telomeres are the primary cause of human aging. Shortened telomeres have been linked to serious degenerative conditions, like heart disease and organ failure. They’re also responsible for other, less-serious aging concerns, such as the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin.

Now, for the first time in history, we can halt and even reverse the shortening of telomeres. The secret lies in an enzyme called telomerase. Telomerase makes your telomeres longer. That means your cells actually get younger as time goes by!

Simply put, telomerase turns back the hands of time. It’s in every cell of your body – but the gene that makes it turns off as you age.

A new anti-aging therapy called TA-65, switches that gene back on. It’s a natural extract that comes from the Astragalus plant.

I’m very excited about TA-65 and have been spreading the word as much as possible. However, it’s only available through licensed practitioners, like myself. People fly in from all over the world to visit my clinic so they can benefit through younger expression of their genes.

If you want to learn more about how you can stop and even reverse your genetic aging clock, I suggest you pick up a copy of my TA-65 DVD, called Switch on Your Immortality Gene.

In the meantime, you can start to slow down the rate that your telomeres are shortening right now.

I always tell my patients that getting 10 to 15 minutes of sunshine a day is critical for their health. In moderation, sunlight helps to increase your antioxidant levels and provides your body with a free, natural source of life-saving vitamin D.

But did you know that vitamin D has been linked to longer telomeres? A study published in the American Society for Nutrition showed that participants with higher levels of vitamin D were also likely to have longer telomeres.1

Here’s the problem: Even if you take vitamins, you’re probably not getting enough D. In one study, over 1,200 people were randomly screened. It turned out that more than 87% had a vitamin D deficiency.2

To get the telomere-lengthening effect of vitamin D, try to go outside and get some sunshine every day. As little as 10 minutes in the midday sun produces 10,000 units of vitamin D.

You can also affect your aging with red wine.

You’ve probably heard about resveratrol, the active ingredient in red wine. But here’s what you probably don’t know. Resveratrol turns on an anti-aging gene that slows down the aging clock by activating something called “sirtuins.”

Sirtuins transmit signals to every cell in your body that cancel out the effects of aging. They bring the processes that lead to cell death to a crawl, buying your body more time to repair the DNA damage that brings life to an end.

Drinking one or two glasses of red wine is one way to benefit from resveratrol. I also recommend adding foods rich in resveratrol to your diet. It’s found in plums, grapes, blueberries, cranberries, and other plants.

Resveratrol can also be purchased in supplement form. A good dose is 10 mg per day. It has never been associated with any worrisome side effects. You can take it any time of day, with or without food.

Here’s the thing...

Dear Beauty Conscious Reader,

By lengthening your telomeres, you can extend your life. And that means for the first time, you can actually stop – even reverse – the aging process in your body.

Here’s the thing…

Your telomeres are extremely vulnerable to oxidative stress. And that’s exactly what antioxidants protect you against. This helps keep your telomeres long. And that, in turn, will help you live a longer and healthier life.

That’s where the healing powers of tea come in. The antioxidant properties of tea may be responsible for protecting the telomeres.

Green tea packs a powerful punch of antioxidants and phytonutrients that eradicates free radicals floating in your body. These are the primary culprits in aging.

The active ingredient in green tea is EGCG, which can prevent and repair cell damage. As a scavenger of free radicals, EGCG combats the effects of pollution, sunlight, and smoking, which helps skin from wrinkling and aging.

The best way to receive the benefits abundant in green tea – including the EGCG – is to start with whole tea leaves (sold in specialty tea stores) or with a tea bag.

Most of the bottled green tea drinks contain additives like aspartame that counteract brewed green tea’s healing properties. I suggest you make your own to maximize the powerful, antioxidant-fighting benefits. You can also find EGCG supplements at your local health-food store. I suggest taking 50 mg of EGCG daily.

And there are other ways to maintain your telomere length. Here’s what I recommend:

Vitamin B12 – Take at least 100 mcg per day. Although, I have advised my patients to take as much as 500 mcg per day or more for improving things like brain function and energy levels.

Vitamin C – Based on my own experience, taking up to 3,000 mg per day is a good amount if you’re in good health. I always recommend pregnant women get at least 6,000 mg per day. And in times of stress or sickness, you can take up to 20,000 mg.

Make sure that you get the natural form of vitamin C and not the synthetic form. In one particular study, natural vitamin C was 148% more effective than the synthetic form. And it stayed in the test participants’ systems longer.2

Vitamin E – Look for a multivitamin with at least 200 iu of “mixed tocopherols” rather than just alpha tocopherols. Your body is better able to absorb them in their organic “d” form.

To Your Good Health,

At last! When it comes to injectable treatments for reducing wrinkles and relaxing your facial muscles, you finally have an alternative to Botox.

Just this year, a new product called Dysport has been approved for use in the United States. It’s been used in Europe since the early 90s with great success, so I’m excited to see it arrive.

Dysport is very similar to Botox. In fact, they’re both botulinum protein A. But there are some very distinct differences between the two:

Dr. Sears & Tara Smith, ARNP

1. The Dysport protein is somewhat smaller, so it works more quickly. European studies showed 25% of patients injected with Dysport noticed a difference on Day 1. Not everyone will get such quick results, but the median onset is only 2 to 3 days. Botox, on the other hand, takes 3 to 10 days to show results, with a median onset of 5 days.

2. Initial studies indicate that Dysport may last longer than Botox. Botox treatments normally last about 90 days. However, some studies indicate that Dysport treatments can remain effective for up to 120 days.

3. Dysport spreads out from the injection site more easily than Botox. This makes it a good choice for larger muscle groups, like the ones in your forehead. It also means fewer injections are needed to achieve results. However, keep in mind that if you’re trying to pinpoint small muscle, around the eye for example, it may not be your best option.

4. The cost of Dysport is much lower than Botox. This is partially because the unit size is 1/3 that of Botox. But since it diffuses farther from the injection point, you may be able to get more for your money with Dysport.

Now that you have an alternative to Botox, you may be considering an injection to relax your facial muscles and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. If so, make sure to consult with a licensed professional who has experience with both Dysport and Botox.

Each has a role to offer, depending on the area that is being injected and your own muscular structure. So you’ll want your injector to be knowledgeable and well-versed in both methods.

Best Wishes for Health and Beauty,

Advances in anti-aging have reached new heights in recent years. That’s great news because now, for the first time ever, you can control how quickly your skin ages.

It’s a breakthrough that can extend the youth span of your skin cells to reduce visible signs of aging. It has even been shown to reverse existing skin damage.

The groundbreaking substance I’m talking about is called Teprenone, and in clinical studies, the results were astonishing. Over a period of 30 days…1

100% of the participants saw an improvement in sun spots and skin moisture.

Redness and pore size were reduced in over 90% of participants.

75% of them noticed an improvement in fine lines, skin firmness, tone, and elasticity.

It increased resistance to harmful UV rays by as much as 100%.

There’s a good reason for this…

If you haven’t been following the story on the amazing advances in telomere biology, telomeres are part of your DNA. They can be found in every cell in your body, and they’re critical to youthful cell function.

But as your cells divide, your telomeres get shorter. The shorter your telomeres, the more your skin cells age… and the older you look.

Today, advances in telomere biology have made it possible to stop the shortening of your skin’s telomeres. And that’s fantastic news because…

Reverse Signs of Aging: Teprenone actively delays the shortening of your telomeres.

In fact, studies show that it can extend the lifespan of your skin cells by 30%.2

The reason Teprenone is so effective is because it works on DNA. That’s something other creams and moisturizers don’t do.

By repairing your skin’s DNA, you can plump up your skin and erase wrinkles, tighten up your sagging jaw line, make your crow’s feet disappear, and reverse sun and aging spots.3

It also protects your DNA in other ways. It prevents oxidative build-up in your skin cells and helps your skin produce natural proteins that protect against damage. And it protects antioxidant activity that keeps your skin healthy and glowing.

This is a real breakthrough in anti-aging and has the potential to change the face of skincare forever.

That’s why I included Teprenone as an ingredient in Revive rejuvenation cream, along with several other skin revitalizing ingredients. Click here to try it out…

Reverse the “Signs” That Show Your True Age

Dear Beauty Conscious Reader,

I’m going to show you how you can slow down the aging of your skin and reverse the signs of aging – without drugs or surgery.

The secret I’m about to reveal is so groundbreaking that your dermatologist would love to share it with you. He hasn’t heard about it yet.

Neither has your doctor or skin-care specialist.

It can literally stop the aging clock… putting a halt to wrinkles, age spots, redness, and dry and sagging skin.

Today you have the ability to turn back the hands of time and reset the time keepers that control your skin’s aging.

This new secret rejuvenates your skin at the cellular level, adding decades of youth and vibrance to your face. So, no matter what your age, in just a few short weeks you can…

Visually reduce lines and wrinkles.

Plump up your skin’s elasticity and moisture.

Reverse sun and aging spots.

Look younger than you have in years!

Nobel Prize Winning Discovery Defies Aging

I’m Al Sears, M.D., and you’re probably wondering how I learned about this incredible breakthrough before your dermatologist did.

For the past year, I’ve been working with the pioneer of an anti-aging breakthrough so dramatic it was recently awarded the Nobel Prize in medicine.

It’s based on something called “telomeres.” Telomeres are “time keepers” attached to your DNA.

Here’s how they work.

As your skin cells divide, your telomeres get shorter. The shorter your telomeres, the more your skin cells age… and your skin starts showing the ravages of time.

But when you maintain the length of your telomeres, your skin will stay supple, radiant, and youthful.

At my anti-aging clinic here in South Florida I’ve made some astonishing discoveries throughout the past 20 years. But this is the most revolutionary.

It gives you the opportunity to halt the aging process and show a younger, more beautiful, and sexier face to the world.

Reduce the Age of Your Skin By Up to 30%1

Most of the women I know get a big thrill when somebody pegs their age as much younger than it truly is. A single 5-year deduction in age can put a smile on their face for days. After all, who doesn’t like to find themselves on the receiving end of a compliment like that?

Even I get a kick out of the times I’m told I look younger than my years. It’s simple human nature. We feel young, we think young, we act young… and we want to LOOK young, for as long as possible.

So imagine how great you’ll feel when you reduce the age of your skin by 30%!

That means your face will age one-third less than your friends and co-workers, and you’ll get more compliments than ever.

My new Revive contains a remarkable extract that literally HALTS aging and can extend the lifespan of your skin cells.

This amazing extract, called teprenone, delays the shortening of your telomeres and protects your skin’s DNA, so you can avoid the ravaging effects that come with age.2

If you read the ads in women’s magazines, you’d think the world is full of anti-aging serums that will make you look young, beautiful, and sexy.

But none of those products works to promote cellular rejuvenation the way Revive does.

Not only does Revive help maintain telomeres and extend the lifespan of your skin cells… I’ve also added even more ingredients to help erase the signs of aging and revive the youth and radiance of younger years.

Look at these results clinical trials of women3 :

100% increased the level of moisture in their skin

100% saw sunspots improve significantly

Over 90% saw a decrease in redness and pore size

75% experienced an improvement in skin tone and elasticity

75% felt roughness and fine lines faded noticeably

Restore the Plump, Supple, and Smooth Skin of Your Youth

When you look at old pictures, you might find yourself surprised to see the beautiful face you wore as a teenager. You probably still envision yourself the same… clear, tight skin… fleshy cheeks… high forehead.

“Revive Plumps Up My Skin”

“It’s very difficult for me to find a good moisturizer.

What I love about Revive is that it goes on smooth – no greasy feel – but really plumps up my skin nicely so it looks younger.

I can see a huge difference after only a month… especially around my eyes and mouth. I love it!”

– D.N., West Palm Beach, FL

Part of the reason for that wonderful fullness in your skin is the presence of hyaluronic acid (HA).

You may have heard of HA before. You’ll find it in popular fillers that dermatologists inject into the skin to puff up your lips, neutralize your frown lines, and smooth out your skin.

There’s a good reason it’s such a popular cosmetic enhancement. HA has the amazing ability to hold vast amounts of water… absorbing around 1,000 times its weight in water.

Without enough moisture, your skin becomes loose, dry, and wrinkled… adding years to your age. But when your skin has enough HA, all that water plumps up your skin.

It enhances both volume and elasticity to restore a youthful balance to your face, so you can start looking the way you did in some of those old pictures!

You don’t have to get an injection to receive the benefits of HA. When you use it topically, significant results can occur.

That’s because your skin can absorb HA at a cellular level. Unlike some other moisturizers that simply sit on the top of your skin, HA sinks into the deeper levels of your skin tissue.

It also acts as a “carrier,”4 delivering all of the anti-aging ingredients in Revive deeply into your cells for a more youthful you.

Kiss Those Sunspots Goodbye

Those dark spots on your skin, known as sunspots or “age spots,” occur as a response to the sun’s UV rays.

Revive works to repair skin at the DNA level. In fact, clinical trials showed that ingredients in Revive increased cell resistance to harmful UVB by as much as 100%!5

And… I’ve added an extra layer of protection to stop UV damage dead in its tracks.

Squalane occurs naturally in your skin. You had plenty of it during your childhood and into your teen years.

The problem is, once you enter your 20s, the amount in your skin falls rapidly. This opens you up to sunburn and damage caused by the sun’s UV rays.6

Squalane has a powerful hydrating action and soaks into the deepest layer of your skin for the most protection. At the same time, it produces a barrier against water loss. It restores moisture and suppleness to your face reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

The addition of this pure, essential oil to my formula aids in cell regeneration and leaves your face soft and glowing for the world to see.

Natural Ingredients for a More Beautiful You

Today it’s becoming more and more important to choose natural products for your precious skin. That’s why I’ve developed a blend of the finest and most powerful natural ingredients for Revive.

The ingredients in a large number of so-called “anti-aging” skin-care products can damage your DNA and prevent it from repairing itself.

One of the skin-care industry’s biggest mistakes was PABA, added to products to reduce the damage from the sun’s UV rays. I’ve got bad news on that front.

When studies were performed on PABA, it was determined that, in the dark, it’s harmless. Expose it to sunlight, and it starts attacking your DNA! So while it may prevent you getting a sunburn, it could contribute to sun-related cancers.7

Another ingredient found in some skin lotions and facial cleansers is ethylene glycol. This compound is used in de-icing solutions for cars, airplanes, and boats.

Is this really something you want to put on your face?

I’m not going to go on about these harmful additives, but I do want to mention one more because of its popularity. It’s propylene glycol, and it is an active ingredient in at least 12,080 products sold for your skin. You’ll find it in cosmetics and moisturizers.

Propylene glycol is often an ingredient in antifreeze, tire sealant, rubber cleaner, paint, degreasers, and adhesives.

You won’t find any parabens, carcinogens, pollutants, or gasoline distillates of any kind in my products.

When you use Revive, you can rest assured that every single ingredient is natural, healthful, and hand-selected by me to provide a healthy, vibrant look to your skin… with no cause for concern.

Your Secret Weapon for Youthful Skin

With Revive you’ll have a secret weapon that turns back the aging of your skin cells. Unlike other cosmetics that never make it past the top layer of your skin, Revive is absorbed at the cellular level to repair your DNA and maintain the length of your telomeres.

So it may surprise you to learn that you can purchase a 1 oz. jar of Revive for under $100. And you’ll get a lot more for your money.

In fact, it can do more for the health and vitality of your skin than most of the $200, $400, and $600 designer products on the market today.

My rejuvenation cream isn’t “designer.” It’s a natural product that’s guaranteed to improve your skin’s tone, texture, and firmness. Each jar contains 1 oz. of this elegant cream and, with normal use, a jar will last about a month.

I’ll cover the shipping, handling, and packing fees myself, so you don’t have to worry about any hidden fees that so many other companies charge.

And if you want to order more, you can take advantage of my multi-jar discounts.

With the purchase of two jars, you’ll receive a 10% discount – a $10 savings on each jar. Better yet, get a 20% discount on three jars, and I’ll send you a report that reveals the secret to telomeres and life-extension – absolutely free.

I was chatting with Cindy, my client services manager, the other day. She mentioned that a few of you had called her to ask about solutions for thinning hair.

She was surprised when I told her I have a new solution that I’ve used with my patients. I’ve seen their hair look fuller, more luscious, and silkier than ever before.

Of course, losing your hair isn’t life threatening. But that doesn’t mean it’s not important.

My female patients tell me they feel younger and more beautiful when their hair is thick, silky, and full. One of my patients told me, “Before Infuse, I just couldn’t get over my thinning hair. It seemed that my hair was going down the drain every morning in the shower. Now my hair has more body than ever, and it’s no longer going down the drain.”

It doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman, thinning hair can be a devastating problem.

The formula I use in my practice, Infuse, contains vitamins and nutrients that reduce thinning hair:

Fenugreek – Chinese traditional medicine has used Fenugreek for more than 2000 years. Fenugreek can stimulate your blood circulation and promote the appearance of a full, luscious head of hair.

Panax Ginseng Root – Increases scalp stimulation, enhancing hair depth and thickness

Articum Majus Root – Helps block DHT

Arginine, acetyl tyrosine, citrulline, and ornithine HCL – These amino acids are the building block of hair structure

Biotin, Niacinimide – B-vitamins that help block the conversion of testosterone to DHT and regulate cellular nutrition

Zinc Gluconate – Teams with the B-vitamins to block DHT

Panthenol and Hydrolized Soy Protein – Proteins to shine, thicken and moisturize hair

Studies of Infuse show that it:

Reduces the appearance of hair loss

Gives you thicker, stronger, silkier, shinier hair

Helps diminish scalp irritation

Now, this formula may not work for everybody. There could be other underlying reasons for your hair loss. But I’ve had a lot of success with it. You can see if it works for you.

To Your Good Health,

Most men and women watch their hair slowly thin with age. It is one of the most apparent signals of your age to people you meet. But you may be in the first generation of men that can actually do something about it.

Most men and women watch their hair slowly thin with age. It is one of the most apparent signals of your age to people you meet. But you may be in the first generation of men that can actually do something about it.

We do not lose our hair because of wear and tear from the environment. New scientific discoveries have led to a very important revelation about why hair thins with age. Your hair falls out on command – commands from hormones. The secret to keeping a naturally thick, lustrous, full head of hair is to change that hormonal command.

We have known for some time that male hormones were involved. They provide a genetically programmed signal for hair thinning to begin and they control how it progresses as you age. Convention made a big mistake, however, in blaming testosterone. As it turns out high testosterone levels throughout life can protect you from hair loss.

The real culprit has turned out to be a different male hormone called dihydrotestosterone or DHT. This hormone also exists in women where it also causes hair loss. In fact, most women I’ve treated with the pattern of receding hair lines and hair thinning over the crown have high DHT levels in their blood.

I have seen high blood levels of DHT induce hair loss in young athletes who abuse anabolic steroids. In some cases, there was not a genetic predisposition to baldness. When we employ strategies to lower DHT, their hair loss stops.

You can use these same strategies to lower your DHT. They have been recently proven to reduce hair loss, preserve your current head of hair or even induce new hair growth.

You may have seen ads for the prescription drug Propecia. It has been a significant balding treatment breakthrough. Propecia has been associated with a number of side effects though. It’s also very expensive, is not covered by most health insurances and has not been approved for women. There are safer, less expensive natural alternatives that can do the same thing. In fact, they can work by exactly the same mechanism.

Propecia works by blocking the conversion of testosterone to DHT. This is the perfect point of attack. It has the effect of both decreasing DHT and increasing testosterone. Propecia inhibits the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase necessary for this conversion. A number of plant-based nutrients also inhibit this enzyme.

Testosterone: Notice the 4,5 double-bond on the A (leftmost) ring.

Testosterone Changes to DHT: Notice the double bond is missing…

The most powerful nutrient to block the conversion of testosterone to DHT is beta-sitosterol. Beta-sitosterol has been proven to inhibit 5-alpha-reductase from converting testosterone into DHT.

A study published by the Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine examined beta-sitosterol’s effectiveness in blocking the production of DHT. The study analyzed men between the ages of 23 and 64 with hair loss.

The participants either received beta-sitosterol or a placebo. The researchers found that 60% of the men receiving beta-sitosterol had an improvement in hair growth. They also lost less hair than the placebo group.1 A softgel containing B-sitosterol 50mg and saw palmetto 200mg extract versus placebo in treating hair loss was used.

You can also find beta-sitosterol in a few herbs at health food stores: saw palmetto, pygeum bark extract and in pumpkin seeds.

Another important nutrient is gamma linolenic acid (GLA). It is an essential fatty acid found in natural plant oils. It is difficult to obtain healthy amounts through diet alone.

Gamma linolenic acid is a proven 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor. The Journal of Investigative Dermatology published one well-known study, researchers tested GLA’s efficacy on hamsters. GLA successfully inhibited the 5-alpha-reductase converting testosterone into DHT.2

Like most health issues, good nutrition serves as the foundation. Stress, drugs of abuse, bad health habits and prescription drugs aggravate the problem and can accelerate the loss of hair.

6 Tips For Keeping Your Hair Youthful

Eat a healthy, high protein diet

Avoid too much stress

Do not use illegal drugs

Avoid prescription drugs

Limit hat wearing

Take a multivitamin

New technologies are rapidly emerging that will change the way older men look. better hair grafts to hormonal manipulation to new prescription drugs, the options have changed useless, vain and troublesome snake oils to a powerful armamentarium that can have a real effect.

Growing real hair takes time. There are no immediate solutions for a return of natural hair growth. But, if you have patience, you can expect to make a difference by sticking to a well thought out strategy.

If you love staying out in the sunshine but worry when that tan turns into a burn, there’s a groundbreaking study you should know about. It blows another hole in the modern medical myth that sunshine’s bad for you – and that sunscreens full of toxic chemicals are your best and only defense.

There’s no question that if you get sunburns often, you’re risking lasting damage to your skin, including melanoma, the most dangerous kind of skin cancer. But it turns out that Nature’s got a weapon against sunburn that may outperform any sunscreen on the market. It halts the processes that lead to sunburn by nearly 80 percent.1 And unlike the commercial skin care products, it’s completely safe and natural.

It unleashes your body’s natural healing power so that spending time in the sun won’t hurt you. It lasts for days, long after it’s been washed away. Even better – it works without blocking the sun’s rays.

You can spend a relaxing day at the beach, play a full eighteen holes on the golf course, or just putter around the garden without worry of having to slather artificial chemicals on your skin – all the while reaping the health benefits of sunlight. And to find the source of the most powerful new ally in skin cancer prevention, you don’t have to look any further than the produce section at your local supermarket.

Meet Sulforaphane: Nature’s Powerful Cancer Fighter

Broccoli’s the simple vegetable that might cut into the $5 billion-a-year sunscreen industry’s profits someday.

There’s a naturally occurring chemical compound in broccoli called sulforaphane. It’s a potent antioxidant and cancer-fighter scientists stumbled on fifteen years ago. It’s in kale, cabbage, cauliflower, turnips, even brussels sprouts. (Your mother was right when she told you to eat your brussels sprouts.)

Since it was first discovered there’s been a mountain of clinical research proving sulforaphane’s power as an ironclad defense against many kinds of cancer, including cancers of the breast and prostate.2 But until recently, studies focused on it as something you’d get in foods or as a supplement. It hadn’t occurred to anyone to look at how sulforaphane might work if you used it like a lotion.

So a team of researchers at John Hopkins University did just that. They started out with three-day-old broccoli sprouts, because the sprouts of the plant have 30-50 times more sulforaphane than the mature broccoli we’re used to seeing at the grocery store.

The Johns Hopkins team made a lotion with the broccoli sprout extract and applied it to the skin just like sunscreen, testing it on the skin of mice and on human volunteers. One of the keys to this particular study was that they exposed the skin to high intensity ultraviolet radiation for up to three days.

And that’s when something amazing happened. In the human volunteers, those who hadn’t been given lotion developed sunburns, including reddening and inflammation. But the other group saw a 40 percent reduction in sunburn on average, and nearly 80 percent in one case.

What’s more the lotion’s healing power lasted long after it had already been fully absorbed by the skin. In other words, the broccoli extract lotion practically eliminated sunburn under extreme conditions.

So how does it work?

Turn on Your “Sun-Protecting” Gene

Rather than “coating” the top layer of your skin like commercial sunscreen, the Johns Hopkins researchers’ found that their broccoli sprout lotion actually goes straight into your skin cells. From there it fires up a number of processes that maintain robust skin health.

Overexposure to sunlight causes sunburn because the sun’s rays interact with oxygen to create molecules that can eventually damage the DNA in your skin cells. Over time, causes them to die or become cancerous.

Sulforaphane has the power to guard DNA by turning on a set of skin-protection genes, like a key in an ignition. Once activated, they release chemicals called “phase 2 enzymes.” These enzymes neutralize the molecules that damage DNA. They also reduce inflammation, another painful symptom of sunburn.

So you can see how differently it works from sunscreen. It lets the sunlight in while sparking your skin’s natural healing power. Think of it
as a kind of skin cream that works from the inside out.

Since it works without blocking the sun’s rays, broccoli extract lotion has the potential to protect you from overexposure withoutrobbing your body of the sun’s many health benefits.

Your Body Needs Sunlight

No matter what the medical establishment and the sunscreen industry say, your body has a physical need for sunlight. You probably already know that your skin reacts to sunlight by making vitamin D. But you may not know just how beneficial vitamin D really is. Here’s just a sample of its clinically proven power.

Elevates mood and boosts mental performance

Prevents many types of cancers, including prostate, breast and ovarian

Reduces the risk of melanoma

Halts and even reverses the effects of bone diseases like rickets, osteomalacia and osteoporosis

Relieves depression and lessens the symptoms of schizophrenia

Enhances the function of your pancreas

Increases insulin sensitivity and prevents diabetes

Promotes weight loss

Provides more restful sleep

Lends energy, vitality, and stamina

Lowers blood pressure

Brings high blood sugar levels down

Lowers the amount of bad cholesterol in your blood

Increases white blood cell activity and strengthens immunity

It will probably be a while before broccoli extract lotion becomes available to the general public. (Among other things, they still need to figure out how to keep it from breaking down before it makes its way onto store shelves.)

Four Steps to “Sun-Living”

In the meantime, there’s plenty you can do to take advantage of the sun’s health-promoting power andprotect yourself. Here are four simple steps you can take right now.

1) Stop using sunscreen.

Most people don’t know this – even many dermatologists – but sunscreen not only offers no real protection against skin cancers from overexposure to the sun. In fact, it can actually cause cancer. Here’s a short list of some of the artificial, carcinogenic compounds widely used by the sunscreen industry:

Cancer-causing chemicals in commercial sunscreens

Chemical

Effects

PABA (also known as octyl-dimethy and padimate-O)

When exposed to sunlight, it attacks DNA and causes genetic mutation.

Octyl-methoxycinnamate (OMC)

Toxic to and can kills cells.

Octyl-dimethyl-PABA (OD-PABA)

Benzophenone-3 (Bp-3)

Homosalate (HMS)

Octyl-methoxycinnamate (OMC)

4-methyl-benzylidene camphor (4-MBC).

Mimic estrogens, causing disruption of real hormone and stimulate cancer cells to grow.

What’s more, there’s never been any evidence that sunscreens prevent the most serious kinds of skin cancer. The science backs me up on this. A recent study published in the prestigious journal Lancet found that while sunscreen may protect against two of the three most common skin cancers, it has not been conclusively shown to protect against melanoma, the most lethal type.3

2) Get your skin-healthy nutrients, especially antioxidants.

There’s no question that overexposure to sunlight can cause free radical damage to your skin. The good news is antioxidants are powerful free radical “scavengers.” They not only prevent skin damage, they can actually reverse the effects of aging from long-term sun exposure.

For your skin these three supplements in particular are important: Vitamin C – 1000 mg, CoQ10 – 100 mg, and Vitamin E – 400 IEU. They’re inexpensive and readily available on line or in health food stores.

You can also ramp up the antioxidant content in your diet. Look for foods rich in vitamins E, C, and A. Here are a few of the best foods for your skin:

Food

Vitamin Levels

Citrus Fruit – oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, etc.

Up to 70 mg/serving of vitamin C – builds collagen, reduces inflammation, protects cells

Cantaloupe

29 mg/serving of vitamin C

Guava

165 mg/serving of vitamin C

Kiwifruit

162 mg/serving of vitamin C

Eggs

140 micrograms (mcg)/serving vitamin A – powerful antioxidant that helps maintain healthy cells

Plain Yogurt

35 mcg/serving of vitamin A

Chicken Liver

11,000 mcg/serving of vitamin A

Almonds

11 IU/serving of vitamin E – beneficial to skin health, prevents skin cell damage

Peanut Butter

6 IU/serving of vitamin E

Cooked Spinach

2.5 IU/serving of vitamin E

Beef

3.4 mg/serving Coenzyme Q10 – important antioxidant and a building block of the body’s tissues

Sardines

7.3 mg/serving of CoQ10

And by the way, even without the extract, you can still get those phase 2 enzymes by eating broccoli or broccoli sprouts, which, as I mentioned, are now widely available in many supermarkets.

As always, I encourage you to try to buy organic, free-range, grass-fed, and minimally processed kinds of these foods whenever you can.

3) Get outside and enjoy the sun everyday you can.

A recent study published in Anticancer Research found that just by getting a little sunlight every day – about 20 minutes for fair-skinned folks, and two to four times that much for those with dark skin – you can reduce the risk of 16 types of cancer in both men and women.4

4) Try natural lotions that truly promote skin health

Look for all-natural lotions with vitamins E or C. Vitamin C is especially good for your skin. It’s been clinically proven to protect you from overexposure to both UV-A and UV-B rays, prevents age spots, and a reduction in inflammation in the skin.5

You are probably most familiar with Botox as a cosmetic procedure. For years, doctors have been using Botox to diminish their patients’ facial wrinkles. And since the FDA approved Botox as an anti-wrinkle serum in April of 2002, its use has become common.

Botox is a natural toxin. The bacterium Clostridium botulinum produces it. Doctors use a purified form of the toxin. We inject small amounts of this substance into muscle, which temporarily weakens it. Botox blocks a chemical in the muscle that causes it to contract.

Less contraction means less wrinkles. This is why Botox is widely used to eliminate facial wrinkles. But this same mechanism can eliminate pain from some medical conditions.

Today, I’ll show you how this cosmetic tool has the potential to alleviate migraine, prostate, and muscle pain. And I’ll give you some tips for Botox safety.

Headaches: We have now come to understand that Botox can treat and even prevent some of the most severe headaches. The journal Headache published a brand new study that looked at the effectiveness of Botox in treating headaches.Researchers analyzed several studies performed over 3 years. They evaluated 271 subjects with severe, frequent headaches. Botox treatment reduce the average number of days per month in which subjects experienced headaches by 56%. Headache intensity and frequency dropped by over 85% with Botox injections. 1

Muscle Spasms: Botox was actually first approved for treating muscle disorders. And I have used this technique in my practice with much success. One of my patients had been suffering from spasms of the neck muscles for years. Botox injections eliminated most of his pain and spasms.

Prostate: The most recent unique use for Botox has been in the relief of BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) symptoms. Researchers have been performing some preliminary tests on the topic for a few years. Now a recent study shows promise.

Researchers at the University Hospital in Rome treated 30 men with swollen prostates with either Botox injections or a placebo solution injection. The men taking Botox had a significant reduction in frequent painful urination after 2 months. These men also experienced a drop in PSA levels. Better yet, their prostates shrunk by almost half! 2

Remember Botox is a nerve toxin, it can be dangerous if used the wrong way. Botox is a prescription. Only let a doctor experienced with Botox treat you. There are very few reported side effects from proper administration.

Botox injections for wrinkles, headaches and muscle spasms can work for up to 3 months. After that, you may need a repeat treatment.

Remember, the study regarding Botox for prostate relief is preliminary. I wouldn’t inject your prostate with Botox just yet. We still need more evidence proving that Botox is safe for the prostate over time. None-the-less, more research could yield more promising results. I’ll give you any updates on the subject in future Health Alerts.
